The mission of Blau is to give new life to ancient instruments, to benefit from the rich sounds they produce which have crossed the centuries to reach our modern world.  With this intention, we researched both the vast Mediterranean repertory and the traditional music of Occitania, an area south of France. Inspired by the Troubadour way of life, we also composed several new melodies on this CD.  The arrangements on this album evoke the bucolic landscapes of the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, the heart of its people, the intensity of their personality and the softness of the sea!

Cercamon is pleased to present Icare.

Cercamon composed these melodies to be the soundtrack of the show Resonances for the contemporary dance troop, Koreas. These musical creations are the result of jazz influence, contemporary music, and ethnic sources from around the world.

Close your eyes, and allow yourself to be enchanted by these compositions, which drive the steps of the dancers, rhythmically directing their movements in their exploration of the dreaming and unconscious world.

Musique des traditions orales

In this CD, we have explored new tones, with a richer instrumentation than on our previous CD. We have intensely researched the composition and arrangements of these songs. Several pieces on this CD were composed by the group, with a lot of instrumental improvisation. We were interested in finding out what 21st Century musicians could do with musical instruments of the middle ages! Instead of trying to reconstruct the medieval music, as no one can really do, we invite you to join us in the journey of our unique musical exploration, and enjoy the fruits of our musical labors!
